World Homoeopathy Day

The World Homoeopathy Day was founded by Drs. Graham Green and Robert Hunter in India. The concept of world wide medicine was brought about by the recognition that the traditional methods of medical treatment were no longer adequate for curing most if not all diseases and disorders. They felt that traditional homoeopathic practices should be given a chance by taking a stand on what they believed to be the best. By doing this, it was hoped that the traditional ways of disease prevention and treatment would not be abandoned in the future.

World Homoeopathy Day

The UN organization known as the World Health Organization (WHO), has been supporting the cause of global health by spreading information about good health. In June 2021, the WHO announced that it would convene an extraordinary session at the World Health Assembly’s upcoming session in India. The assembly is to be headed by Secretary-General Dr. Tedros Caglayan, who is also the chief medical adviser to the Indian government. This is the first time that a WHO mission will be held outside of the world’s capitals. Along with India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka, the Indian government will co-host the meeting. The World Health Assembly aims to highlight the many benefits of holistic medicine, particularly herbal remedies that don’t have side effects. The buzz in the pharmaceutical world at the moment is that more people are turning towards naturopathic cures and homeopathy for all their health problems, including chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma, and allergies. It is believed that more patients are choosing these alternatives because they are safer for the patient as well as the environment. Although some medical professionals still doubt the effectiveness of natural treatments, many are willing to try them in severe cases.

In India, World Health will be celebrated on the day when the Indian government announced that all doctors in the country will be required to undergo a two-day training course on world wide health issues. The course will also include general health care and will be concluded with a one-day master’s degree program. All the graduating doctors will then be required to take a national examination to become certified. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness among medical practitioners about the various alternative methods available to them to treat their patients. These doctors will be encouraged to include these alternative methods in their usual treatment, thereby increasing the knowledge level of the public regarding them.

Some other countries are celebrating this World Health Day in a more organized manner. In India, the month of May is declared as World Natural Therapy Month. During this period, every medical practitioner in the country is required to undergo training in natural healing methods. All the medicines will be made available to the public for free, to increase the awareness levels regarding this mode of treatment. This initiative is taken up by the government as a way to promote alternative medicine and to raise the standard of health care in the country.
